Home / School News / Letter to Parents-COVID-19 Update

March 13, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we head into spring break, we continue to monitor the effects of the COVID-19 virus and its impact on our schools. Attached is a message from the Deputy Minister of Education regarding the current outbreak. At this time, there are no plans to close schools beyond the already scheduled break. Any decision to close will come from the Ministry of Education and Public Health Officials.

We continue to remind families:

  •   if a student is sick, please keep them home.
  •   practice proper health hygiene by washing hands frequently, coughing/sneezing into the elbow and notsharing water bottles, etc.
  •   to be aware of social distancing and avoiding larger gatherings of over 250 people.Should circumstances change over the next two weeks, we will communicate with families regarding those changes and any impacts related to our schools.

    Sincerely,

    Scott Stinson
    Superintendent of Schools
